Good questions

Everything you might want to ask.

And if it isn't here, Kevin answers every enquiry himself — just ask.

How long will you need to be at my event?

Performing close-up at a drinks reception or party, Kevin can interact with roughly 40–50 people an hour, so it depends on your guest numbers. At tables during a meal it's a little different — Kevin performs between courses so guests enjoy the magic without eating at the same time. As a guide, ten tables takes around two hours.

How much do you charge?

Kevin offers a bespoke service designed around the specific requirements of your event. The quote depends on factors such as guest numbers and how long you'd like him there. Send your details via the contact page for a quote for your event.

How much notice do I need to give?

Weddings and large functions are often booked 18 months to two years ahead, so the more notice the better — but other events are booked on much shorter timeframes, sometimes at the last minute. Get in touch to check availability.

How do I know how good you are?

Kevin is one of a small band of elite magicians worldwide honoured as a Member of the exclusive Inner Magic Circle by the world's most famous magic organisation. He has performed regularly for more than twenty years and is also a full member of the performing-arts union Equity — both bodies accredited, with strict standards for membership. The testimonials page shows how previous clients felt about his contribution to their events.

Are you insured?

Yes — Kevin holds Full Public Liability Insurance for £10,000,000 through the performers' union Equity.

What if you fall ill or can't perform?

In the highly unlikely event Kevin has to cancel, he will arrange for one of the professional magician colleagues he regularly works with to perform in his place.

Is your price negotiable?

With magicians, you get what you pay for — quotes vary enormously. You'll want an entertainer who delights your guests and whom you'd happily book again or recommend. Kevin's prices offer very good value for a full-time professional, and so are not negotiable.

What area do you cover?

Kevin is based in Essex but performs across London and the South of England — Hertfordshire, Kent, Sussex, Surrey and Bedfordshire — and often further afield in the UK and abroad. Ask via the contact page for more information.

I'm organising a charity event — will you perform for free?

Kevin charges the going rate, but is prepared to donate some or all of his fee back to the charity depending on the cause, the time and travel involved, and what other suppliers are offering. He is already committed to at least 12 charity events a year at no charge.

Can anything reduce the effect of the magic?

For mix-and-mingle and table magic, guests need to hear Kevin and see what he's doing. Loud background noise — a band, singer or DJ performing at the same time — or very low lighting can make it harder for guests to enjoy the magic, much as they'd affect enjoyment of the best man's speech.

Does Kevin entertain children?

Kevin isn't specifically a children's entertainer, but all of his magic is family-friendly and enjoyed by everyone. His relaxed, friendly style draws the younger ones in — they're often made to feel like the star.
